Collections
Since January 2021, the Town of Stanstead has proceeded with residual materials collection, offering this service internally as an extension of the public works team. We are proud of this initiative and also service the municipality of Ogden for their collection needs.
How to position bins
A misplaced bin = an unemptied bin
5 tips to remember :
- Bins must be placed facing the street, with wheel towards the house
- The correct bin must be placed on the correct day
- Black/green = garbage
- Blue = recycling
- Brown = compost
- Only square bins with wheels will be emptied
- Only the contents IN the bin will be picked up (no bags or piles next to bins)
- Bins must not be placed on sidewalks

Contents of the bins
But…WHERE DOES IT GO ? BLACK BIN – BLUE BIN – BROWN BIN ? (document in French only)
We know it can be a hassle to know which bin to put items in. The MRC of Memphremagog has created a great tool to answer citizens’ questions regarding the placement of waste in the bins.
Items not allowed in the bins
These items should not be placed in the bins. They must be recycled at the ecocenter or at a specialized retailer.
