Membership & participation
Created in 2006, the Fleurons du Québec recognize the sustainable horticultural beautification efforts of Quebec municipalities. The Florets’ horticultural classification rating, similar to the stars for hotels (1 to 5 Florets), is valid for three years and can be displayed at municipal entrances.
The Town of Stanstead has been awarded 4 Flags for the period 2020-2022. Four Florets means “Excellent. Outstanding horticultural beautification in most areas.”
Villages-relais halts are rest areas built near highways and strategic provincial routes that are part of a tourist circuit recognized by Tourisme Québec.

Located in the Stone Circle park, the Stanstead figure is Dr. Henrietta Ball-Banting (1912-1976), born in Stanstead and wife of Frederick Banting, co-discoverer of insulin. Lady Banting followed her passion for medicine, but continued to spend her summers at the ancestral home in Stanstead in addition to being a member of the Stanstead College board of directors.
