On behalf of the municipal council and myself, I am pleased to welcome you to our website. This site was designed to better communicate with citizens and offer you the opportunity to easily view the information that you need. Our website is a dynamic tool that is regularly updated with the latest news.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This website is also a showcase for people outside the area to see the beauty of our town. This allows us to present attractions and services for those who would like to visit us. As a border town, we are lucky to be neighbors with the Village of Derby Line in the state of Vermont with whom we share services such as water and sewer – a unique situation in North America! We also have numerous international buildings here in Stanstead, such as the Haskell Library and Opera House<\/a>, intentionally built on the border in 1904.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n

Various industries offer important employment opportunities in the region. As a bilingual municipality, employers are indulged with a bilingual workforce that can communicate efficiently with francophones and anglophones alike – indiscriminately and in the language of their choice. <\/p>\n\n
